How does your garden look? Let's see some pics!!! Rain washed out my beans n corn. Just a few coming up. The maters, peppahs, squarsh n cukes seem happy though, as does the 2nd year asparagus and the blueberries. The lettuce in the background is from last year.

Looks good 60! I have never grown asparagus before. Taste much better than the store bought stuff, but that seems to be with everything.

Taste much better than the store bought stuff, but that seems to be with everything. its a very lengthy process right? Plants gotta be a couple of years old before you start harvesting and it takes a few plants to make more than a handful of asparagus. Not something you get to pick and eat every week.

Ok- we intended to go smaller this year, after all the luck we had with rain last year, we didn't want to see what happened when we didn't get it. I think we actually managed to plant MORE in the same space we had last year It's kind of "L" shaped, so the first pic shows one side, and the second pic shows the other side. The fence to the left holds out pole beans, tomatoes and peppers. The double layered electric fence is a joke. We still have deer in the garden. Gonna try a few more tricks. Below: 6 Brandywine tomatoes and 6 Rutgers Speckled butter peas and pink eyed cow peas in the front (bottom) and squash/watermelon/zucchini hills in the top back. The far left shows the peppers. We have 3 green bell, 3 jalapeno, 3 sweet banana, and 3 pablano. The sweet peppers are by the tomatoes and the hot are on the far end of the fence. Peas, and corn off to the right hand side of pic Gonna have zucchini here in a day or so!! Hayley was inspecting her handiwork. She tied all the bean vines to the fence to train 'em. She was grumpy about having to do it too.....I'll make sure to video tape her reaction when she finds out that she has to REMOVE all the vines form the same fence after the season is over 3 different kind of watermelons straight down the middle. Cucumbers, squash and zucchini to the right. Just ti the left of the hills and past that fence post on the left are 3 rows of okra My honey dew seeds did not make it. I'm guessing they were an old batch of seeds. On top of all that, I have sweet taters planted as ground cover under the gardenias that line the front of my house. Kind of hard to see in the pic below, I'll get a better one later. Anyone have any Messicans to rent out for the summer???

Lookin good Sugar. Milorganite is the fertilizer you want to put down about once a month. The deer absolutely hate it and will for the most part steer clear.

I'll tell Rob so he can check it out. We didn't have such a problem with them last year, but then again, we didn't have a new neighbor with a protein deer feed company, either.

Wow!!! I'm very impressed, that is one nice garden! Thanks Blood! After everything is put up, it should last us the year. We still have a few jars of corn and winter squash in the pantry from last year's garden.

Not happy with tomato cages. Gonna try something different this afternoon. Stay tuned for pics. Tomato cages are a hassle. We put up t-posts and wire, then let the tomatoes grow up to it. We're tying them up and they climb. So far, it's tons easier than the cages we tried last year.

I just need more space to cook on! I have a Presto 23 quart being delivered tomorrow!! It was "supposed" to have been in by Friday, but had a sub driver & he couldn't find my house! Regular driver is back & knew exactly where my place is! I can't wait to start filling up shelves and saving some freezer space!

Got our first crop of squash in! This is only HALF of what there was available to pick! I bought some tin cake pans today at Wally World, so I'll be slicing these up with onions and butter pats, then sticking them in the freezer after par-cooking them. (I'll post pics of the process when I do it later tonight)
