13 degree windchill in Cordele. Outside last night at 10:30 flushing out the heater core on my truck. Yup, procrastination is always nice.

18 degrees outside right now. I just had to go pour hot water on the chickens water so they could get a drink. They pecked at me cause they were mad. Their water jug was frozen solid.

Boys, we have some serious cold weather coming next week.
2 models have snow for us, but time will tell the story.

The models are playing with us. I'm tempted to not even look at another model run until Monday morning. Tired of watching them give us a blizzard or epic ice storm one run and then take it all away the next. The number of runs in favor of a winter event are much fewer than the number against it. So discouraging, but I know they won't resolve until Monday at the earliest. Meanwhile extreme N. Ga should see another bout of flurries this weekend.

I have been digging on twister data and the NOAA web sites trying to learn how to read the maps and all the acronyms they have listed ... Its tough but with some time I think it will all be good. Just need some measurable snow soon to make it all worth while!

I really hate to say this, and DDD will tell you how much I really hate to say this, but I'm finding myself looking more and more at the GEM (Canadian model) for the coming few days over the GFS and Euro. The GFS is just all over the place and the GEM seems to hold a very realistic set of data for what is a probable resolution to the coming fronts. Here is the 25th snow for extreme N. Ga that I mentioned earlier. They are in agreement on that one. Then on the 27th it brings a very real possibility for icing at the worst, snow at best for up hillbilly's way, and good soaking rains for SOWEGA. Then high pressure and really cold sets back in until the 31st when we're looking at just a rain event moving across the state. This last model is the only one that deserves some lee-way simply because it is still so far out, but all in all the GEM wins my favor for the forecast over the next 5 days at least. Which is very rare for me. I am a diehard GFS fan.

We can't catch a break... Nothing lines up for a good snow event.

Alright boys... what I didn't say over on the hard wood....
The EURO ensembles and the GFS ensembles have some serious snow fall for Augusta, ATL, Greenville, even Macon.
This whole system hinges on where it comes across the Canada - US line. If it comes across around the Nebraska / Iowa area you can forget it.
We need this thing to come into the US North of Colorado. The farther this energy digs West the better it transfers down the line. That is what I am going to be watching.
GFS starts running in about 30 minutes.

I like this 18z Canadian model run for tomorrow night, dropping a light dusting of snow across the northern territory of Ga. However, the GFS does not agree with it at all. I guess we'll see what happens and which model is right in about 36 hours.
