You boys heard it here first at the Creek... winter shall return on St. Patrick's Day and about 3 days after that... At least that is what the models are advertising. Figured I would post it here first. Just a little cold air. We ain't skeered.

Dang wind is relentless tonight! Just about blew me off the road a couple of times! Lost power around 4pm and it was off until 7. Any normal / neutral weather in our near future?

I've got good news and bad news. First the bad news. Even with spring fast approaching the temps are staying cool with the exception of the occasional 70 degree day or two. Yep, that's as bad as it gets. The good news is, the rain pattern is slowing and with the cool temp pattern the potential for severe weather decreases. This is good news for March into April. Will it stay non-eventful well into the summer? Who knows, but for now things are looking pretty darn calm, which is good cause Blood still hasn't found a good rooftop weather watchin chair.
We may have to start a fundraising campaign to help him out with that.

Very slight chance for us to hear a boomer tomorrow, but our friends in SOWEGA stand a much better chance.

For our SOWEGA friends. I don't expect it to get this serious, but figured if the NWS thinks it's important you should know about it. Either way, it pays to keep that weather radio nearby. It's already started to get exciting in SE Miss. and SW Al. so y'all keep an ear out.

I'm reading on a couple of different forums about our potential cold and wintry weather next week and it seems everyone is all worked up about a late season cold shot. To me things are finally getting back to normal. When I was a kid I can remember freezing cold almost every Easter and at least one or two good snows every year! Am I wrong or do does the last couple of winters seem to be point on? I'm just asking!

When I was growing up we called that a cold drizzly rain. That's it.

Stickin my nose in the weather models for this coming Saturday, just for kicks and grins. Right now the incoming system doesn't look too awfully volatile, with however some good LI numbers in South Central Bama carrying over into SOWEGA. CAPE is stronger in SOCEBA and moderate in SOWEGA. Moisture will be pretty good for both locations, and crossover shear will be moderate, nothing to sound alarms over at this point in time though. Here's a map or two for y'all to ponder over for Sat. March 29th and I'll get more specific with this system as we get closer, if it is warranted. If it looks like it'll be just spring thunder boomers I'll let it rest.
